The event saw a huge loss of life in a concentrated area with only a few survivors, Vergil and his parents being among the small few that managed to make it out. Vergil's life and the lives of the small remaining survivors are attributed to this cloaked duo who arrived in the area that night. It is due to this event that Vergil seeks to become stronger so that when the day comes, he has the power he needs to in order to prevent the same tragedy he had to live through.
