In 1998, the first Pokemon episode aired:I was 7, and Ash was 10.
In 2011, Pokemon entered it's 700th episode:
I was 20, and Ash was 10.
Just never understood why in the English dub, Ash stays a pre-pubescent 10-year-old while In the original Japanese version, I believe he's grown a couple years...

Two years before I was born Ash was ten years old.
When I first start watching Pokemon at five years old and my little brother was born, Ash was ten years old.
Now my eight year old brother and my thirteen year old self are still watching Pokemon and Ash is still a ten year old.
HOW THE HELL DOES THAT WORK?!
But then again screw logic. The anime is about a group of under-age kids with no adult supervision what so ever traveling from place to place, capturing innocent Pokemon against their will and forcing them to battle other Pokemon. Pokemon beat the crap out of each other willingly? Bitch please.
Also they don't go to school! What kind of message does that send to kids huh?
And they make friends with complete and utter strangers. I'm surprised none of them got raped yet. (Clueless kid who instantly trusts people = perfect target for pedobears.)
The funny thing is my friend told me Ash was suppose to age one year after like 1-3 of the first seasons (I forgot the exact season). It was even said in the anime that he aged one year, but I guess they changed it.
But as much as I am annoyed by the anime, I still love this game. Even if it is about enslaving innocent creatures.

They do mention years passing, but it's never had a baring on Ash's age. From what Bulbapedia has said, the very first episode of BW says he's still 10.

You'll find young boys in cartoons and anime are voiced by women.
Timmy Turner for example is voiced by the same woman who dubs Raven from Teen Titans.
Bart Simpson is voiced by a woman.
Japanese Edward Elric is a woman's VA.
Look it up and you'll be surprised.
