Pan, the horned god. Ahhh I love Pan, he's so cool.Wikipedia description of Pan...
"The Greek god of shepherds and flocks, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music: paein means to pasture. He has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, in the same manner as a faun or satyr." He's also known to have a verocious appetite in all things hedenous and a stench to match!
And here, he's pink!
He's actually been hiding in my bag "unfinished" for months but I've decided he's as finished as he's ever going to be. So here he is! Acrylic paint, acrylic ink, gold pen on 45 x 30 cm paper.

down here in the american soutwest there's a similar god-figure called Kakopeli.

one of the native american tribes in this area. Main ones are Navajo, Hopi and (ancient) Sinagua.
I'm sure if you googled Kakopeli you'd find out anything you'd want to know. (Not sure of my spelling so you may have to play around with it.)

Amazing I think its very inspireing. Pan he's cool, played Puck once . Read Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins? Pan is in it.

Wow, the color is so interesting.. there is no green!! and besides, there is some aquatic feeling in the picture. It is very different from the usual image of Pan, and I like it. It makes that spirit more alive, more present..

I love myths. I think it's so cool to have wonderful art with a myth behind it. It's great just looking at the details and thinking about the story. This is a really good piece, dear.

Yeah I work really fast. Thats why I don't know what I'm looking at half the time. And Pan appeared (to me) a week after I'd finished this. Now i can't see anything but Pink Pan!

Absolutely! Its good to be free with painting sometimes I think. Personally I get bored after a short time so Its good to have found a fast way of working, keeps it spontaneous and interesting. Its what drove me nuts about doing Sculpture at college. Everything just too far too long!

I see faces in everything almost! Looking at the carpets, or wood with notches and patterns, tiles, all sorts.. Animal faces, fish faces, human faces, all sorts!
