I started reading Game of Thrones to cope with the long wait before the next season. Not only are some characters pretty different from the show, there are some minor things that bother me much more than it should, such as Daenerys' dark eyebrows and eye color.Even though I wouldn't want to see a thirteen year old Dany on the show, I decided to draw her more accurate to the book. I've also been trying to draw Rhaegar but he never comes out gorgeous enough *sigh*

Yeah, the designs in the book are hella different than the show, but that's just because people like to hire good looking actors. And yeah, in Dany's case specifically having the actress be 13 for certain parts would be a hard sell... Still, this is a nice bit of fanart and I agree with PlaidTidings. I think you do capture the sort of strength of spirit the character comes to have.
I don't know if it would interest you, but I'd love to see your take on the other characters' appearances.

For the show version I'm glad they didn't do total accuracy with her eyebrows, albino facial hair tends to be almost invisible and her facial expressions would be harder to read as a result. They could have at least done a dark blonde though, didn't need to go *that* dark

i think it has to do by his historicle studies he done
and well i guess his affinity for letting chars suffer is just his natrual talent.Β

This is such an accurate drawing!! I agree on not wanting to see a thirteen yo version on the show, but I really do miss the purple eyes (i mean, the targaryen eyes were pretty emphasized on the books, whereas on the show a ton of characters already have blue eyes lol).
