Description Cervidae Potio (Dart Deer)

Albino Complications: Albinos often are born with poor eyesight or are completely blind. They are also know for developing skin cancer, weak immune systems, and blood clot issues.

Gender: Male (Stag)
Height: 8' - 9'10" to antlers.
Weight: 750 - 1,200lbs

Habitat: Cervidae Potio are located in temperate deciduous forests and/or tropical and subtropical coniferous forests.

Biology: . They generally have lithe, compact bodies and long, powerful legs suited for rugged woodland terrain they are also excellent jumpers and swimmers. They also have long sturdy necks with six flexible trunk like appendages. Each appendage ends with three grabbing 'fingers'. The front of their skull is thick and plow like which they use for digging up soil for grubs and roots. Dart Deer have four eyes placed high up on their skulls, their eye colors tend to be warm colors with bright blue for where the whites should be.

Antlers: both male and female Dart Deer have antler, however the females antlers are considerably small and they lack the rear spikes. Given by their name, dart deer's antlers secret a venom at each point. While the species itself is immune to the toxin, for others it causes muscle paralyzation, possible infection, and flesh degradation if not treated.

Jaw structure: Dart Deer's jaw is located further back behind the plow portion of their skull. The teeth of dart deer are adapted to feeding on vegetation, with heavy grinding molars, however they lack both upper and lower incisors. They also have long protrusible grooved or trough-like tongues to drink nectar as well as other liquids. Because of their unique skull structure dart deer have to rely on their six trunk appendages in regards for picking up objects and eating.

Diet: Dart Deer commonly feed on nectar from large gourd like plants as well as soft vegetation, insects, small birds and animals, and grubs/larva.

Posture: at rest Dart Deer stand with their head erect and their appendages wrapped around their neck.

Color Morphs: While their base is always some sort of green their back markings as well as antlers range from many colors.

I'm curious as to the purpose of their venom. Is it purely a defense? With it being that lethal, it seems like they would be some kind of carnivore. (Also, what do they use those appendages for?)

It's purely for defense. They just stab you and run like hell, then the poison sets in and paralyses you for who knows how long, it only causes infections and everything else if you don't clean it out. I got the venom idea from platypus [link]

And It said somewhere on there their trunks are used for picking things up and for digging round for grubs and the like, also for catching small animals. Their mouth is located in a weird spot on their skull so they use their trunks similar to elephants.

Or scavengers. Reminds me of komodo dragons, actually, except it's poison, not bacteria.
