The clarity of this piece could stand to be just a little clearer. The almost gritty resolution in it takes away, just a little bit, from the sharpness of the photo. maybe that was intentional? it does help the view with the illusion that she is part of the surrounding darkness. even with all the dark negative space in this piece you are constantly drawn to her face and eyes. the matte finish of the surface she is propped on helps with this. the flower and red vase somehow bring a gentleness to the whole thing. it doesn't necessarily make it more feminine but just more gentile. as if to say the darkness is not as heavy as we all perceive. the red of the vase with the red of her lips, and the surrounding dark, make the eyes make this photo look all together busy, while somehow staying calm and collected. the softness of her nudity bring a needed light to the picture that even the well placed flower can not bring. very well balance of dramatic lighting.
in most photos like this i would ALMOST be interested to see it in black and white. but without the reds, and the cream of her skin the picture wouldn't be complete. this is well done, and very tasteful. its is something someone with a lot of money would hang on their wall in a very modern style living room. great work as always e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

yes i totally agree, bw would have taken way too much from it. i would love to eventually like to get prints of some of your work, if i can ever talk my other half into buying a house.
