Pretty good. You're good at shading, but you need to add shadows to the ground.

Ah yes, Dragonlance! From a time before D&D was watered down into its present wimpy form!

Although I'm much more of 1st edition Forgotten Realms fan.

Fourth edition is for the weak!

I have a copy of the Player's Handbook with the original cover. The one with the Halfling prying the gem out of the idol's eye.

This really reminds me of old video game art, which is totally cool. I feel the coloring is great and perhaps the line art is a little thick, but the character expressions are awesome, their positions individually and in relation to one another.

Andared In reply to ttbloodlusttt [2011-06-10 17:59:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the kind words and the fave. A lot of people have commented on the thick line art. I tried to fix it but always wind up with thick lines because thinner lines never look right to me. I'll keep trying.

ttbloodlusttt In reply to Andared [2011-06-10 20:35:57 +0000 UTC]

I have that same problem. I love those thick heavy lines, often I end up realizing once I am done that I mucked something up along the way.

One thing I have been trying is doing my line art different with each drawing, sometimes using a single line (not thick) and other drawings I really lay into the thick lines. What I am realizing is, as I pay attention to shadow and lighting, it is much easier to place thick lines and thin lines. places like the face, hands, clothing details, line thickness seems to really be hit or miss. It's hard to find that 'in between' but it will come with practice I am still learning as well

Andared In reply to ttbloodlusttt [2011-06-10 21:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Back in the day I used quill pens and india ink, which was cool because you can vary line thickness by controlling the pressure on the pen. But, alas, I got lazy and started using technical pens.

I'll you can keep drawing and getting better.
