Description
Just messing around with watercolor and colored pencil. This started off as the annual holiday card design, but somehow it got too naked. I imagine my relatives won't want to display it alongside their snowmen and Kris Kringles... Oh well -- Back to the drawing board!

I envisioned the object between her hands as a star, but it could be anything, really. In an early sketch version, it was a butterfly. In any case, it is indeed something precious!

Unfortunately often the close ones are the ones who do not ‘get’ it.
Saying this, it does not take any loveliness out of the portrait, she is simply beautiful
I like the idea of her holding a star-stars and wishes are very close things

ah, the sweets 😂 I know the pain-in here I not only have chocolates from my students, but the ones I made myself 😬 I fear when someone asks me what I got for Christmas, my only answer could be -fat. I got fat

Heh, that's true about close ones not getting it... I guess we think that because they are "family," they should understand us... And I'm sure they wonder when and where we took that wrong turn into the "furry fandom..." In the past, I used to show some of my anthro stuff to my mom, but she had nothing to say except that my deer ladies had "big thighs." Bleh.

This is something magnificent!
A kind of the soul essence, the warm love... it's seems warm and safety.... something beautiful and pleasant, something soft but powerful... something magical but natural... something that is part of everything... Equally with the universe, equally with the living beings. A base thing... It's very important and valuable.

Hah... Suddenly, i think that, it's a wish, or dream... ^.^ Because i feel that, this is untouchable... and it can be immeasurable... Maybe a concept with feeling and/or thought. Hmm... A wonder? O_o Maybe. I really don't know, but i feel these.
Huh, the deer-woman in herself, huh, beauteous... feminine and magnetic. Like a goddess. The concept and perspective is enthralling.The colors are complement and strengthen each other as always. I would to say the contrast is perfect.
The whole picture is pleasant to the eye. But not just eye.. also for the soul. Like a warm hug. ^.^
I guess, this is one of your most beautiful artwork.
Pff. "Too naked"? Is that exist? XD I see/saw everywhere little naked boy-angels, and... Mary with naked chest, while she feed the little Jesus. But a shirtless beautiful holy deer (with natural censor) is taboo. I "understand".
But... I noticed this silent, because the two first paragraph more important.

The subject is indeed a wish of sorts -- I like your "warm hug" analogy, which is very apt. Usually if I paint something like this, the unstated subject is eternity and what might happen when we find ourselves there. Of course, this theme is too abstract and serious (and too naked

I like how the forest has a slight eerie darkness, along with her black dress, but she is defiantly beautiful enough brighten the upper half and night sky ^v^
