Description More fluid simulations - started working with shapes and poses... working on a larger themed body of work. Fun stuff learning

Simple figure modeled and posed completely in zbrush. Mesh then taken into realflow. The mesh generated from there was then taken into 3dsmax, where it was exported as an fbx file and thrown in keyshot for material application and rendering. Final output image then slightly tweaked in photoshop - upping the contrast a bit, stuff like that.

Average time of completion, I'd say approximately 4-5 hours (including rendering and simulation of course).

Well, I had a headache when I was designing it so maybe that sort of influenced the design

It's a very amazing one
A kind of sadness emerges from it. How he tries to hide himself and the movement of the fluid... It is like he is going to disapear ><
Very great work ! I really like it

To me this looks like a cross over of a human and an insekt.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndreasKopriva In reply to simone4390 [2011-08-18 22:32:02 +0000 UTC]

That's interesting. When I was creating the initial model I wanted it to be a frail humanoid with excessively long limbs which accentuated that fragility. So i'm guessing that's where the insectoid vibe stems from

simone4390 In reply to AndreasKopriva [2011-08-19 21:57:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes that's right. It's also because of the texture of the skin.

Thank you very much for the compliment. I am considering on fleshing these out as real sculptures at some point (which would mean that I would need to learn how to sculpt but that's a different story ), so your feedback is quite valuable

AndreasKopriva In reply to amidiarte [2011-07-29 22:07:44 +0000 UTC]

Muito obrigado

For these I used Realflow to create the fluid dynamics, Zbrush to model the base character, Keyshot to render it and Photoshop for a final polish of the image.

It's a little character holding his head - I sort of envisioned it as a museum piece but unfortunately I currently lack the skills to create something like that in real life :/ - I'll be uploading a few more renders of the same character from different perspectives shortly.

When I've modelled something and am about to render it I pick usually 3-4 angles which I find interesting and slowly start rendering those out. This particular angle doesn't really show the shape of the subject that much but I liked the gesture portrayed from this perspective.

I don't know what this is, but it's certainly interesting. The kinda thing I'd spend a minute or two by at a museum.
