I would have thought this was beautiful to look at before, but recently I watched a video about these guys who are spending 25 years restoring and building an old French mini-castle using only medieval methods and tools and now all I can think about is how long that would have taken them to make... and how the town below was probably mostly founded just by the workers as a place to live, and then their kids, and then the supporting industries of mining and food growing and then serving staff and soldiers to man the defence...Β
Still gorgeous. My favourite part is the bit of rough broken stone in the foreground where the smooth stone seems to have been broken at some stage.

generally there's 1 architect and lots of workers to build a building from scratch, same's here - this is a visual design of what the artist sees, if u wanna organize a team and build the real thing - go ahead
