It also depends on what state or province you're in. If you're in the Maritime provinces or New England states then it's more like Europe unless you're in a city. In which case it takes ten hours to get somewhere five miles away.

LOL!! xD These are hilarious! xD
Yeah.... 10 hours and still only one state. I know the feels. Wouldn't that be something to just bounce to different countries? xD

Ahaha! I remember those dark days, when all we had were Connect Four, Battle Ship, and that one color-memory game to entertain ourselves for hours on end...

Actually, my favorite memory on those long trips was when we quoted a Disney movie from start to finish by dividing up the cast members amongst each of us.

I remember doing that too. We'd each pick our characters, then quote the movie verbatim. Did we sing the songs too? I think not but I don't remember too well. Don't forget the old Sonic game and the 6 seconds of high pitch music that looped over, and over, and over, and . It's surprising how as a kid you seem immune to that sort of thing.
Lol. these sketches are great. 10 hours in 1 states. I'm looking at you Nebraska!

Nah, we skipped the songs. Singing together felt awkward even though getting into the voices wasn't LOL. Oh and don't forget that Ninja Turtles game. Thankfully it had a mute button.
I remember when we were passing through... I think it was Nebraska in the car and we joked that the state tree was a telephone pole. It literally felt like the middle of nowhere!! I remember it as a little kid needing to pee.

On my road trip a few years ago it took me 11 hours to get from the Bay Area (pretty central) in California to Portland, Oregon. Driving lengthwise through California is frustrating. You should have had Australia up on this one, too. XD

Hah!! Yep, thats an island nation for you!
Truth be told, being on such a small island has made us very intolerant of long car journeys. Even 6 hours seems excessive for any reason. I find it hard to imagine when I hear about Americans going on trips across the states by car.

OH let me tell you! While growing up many road trips would be 10-20 hours. That is when you start getting creative in passing the time.

Growing up, my family would drive from North Carolina to New Mexico to my grandparent's house. That's a three-day journey if you stop at night. Two and a half if you have two drivers that switch off regularly and don't stop. By myself the longest I've gone in one shot is 12 hours. With friends, we did a trip from Salt Lake City, Utah to St Louis, Missouri that took us 20 hours (with one stop in Omaha to stay with friends for a while) after I'd driven TO Salt Lake from Rexburg for 5 hours.
I consider myself something of a road warrior.

Yep, Iowa to Utah as a child took 20 hours on the road. LOL You either come out a warrior or stir crazy from that! btw, usually I do the Rexburg to Provo trip in 4 hours tops. I like to speed

Crikey. I would just go insane. I was barely able to cope with a 7-hour journey from Ottawa to Toronto.

It's an eight to ten hour drive from Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Winnipeg, Manitoba and close to a full day in Madison. Because of the fact that it's usually a trip with all five of us (dad, me+my twin, my older brothers, my parents are split and mom hasn't gone with us in years) and my brother lives in Oshkosh the trip doesn't officially start until like Wasau which is closer to 12 but we sometimes have to stop overnight in bad weather. And also the border guys.

(I was about to complain that I live in one of the biggest countries of Europe and so we can drive for 6 hours and still be in our contry but then I remembered we went to Swiss in about 5 hours last week-end XD)
