Marquetry is cutting and shaping precise pieces of different types of wood and then placing them together (like a puzzle) to create this type of work. Pyrography is the use of heated tools to burn an image into the wood or to burn details into a work. Both styles of wood work require patience, concentration, and of course a love of the process. FYI.
