Hello! I would like to notify you that I've featured you on my surreal and abstract art blog over on Tumblr. Your work really fits the theme, and you can see it on artagainstsociety.tumblr.com . Of course, I have given you credit and linked to your page. If for any reason you don't want it published any longer, just send me a message and I'll delete it pronto. Thanks, and congratulations! Your art is beautiful. Please note: If you don't see your art right away on my blog, it is probably still in the queue and has yet to be posted.

I don't know what to say, it's so detailed and beautiful! I love the colour scheme and the blind, jewel-like eye. It's hard to believe that you achieved such reachness of shades with only two colours. Great job!

Yep, a lot of it was done that way, was trying something new.

He used to do a lot of book covers about 10-15 years ago as well as some game art for various companies. He still does some art but not like he used to... anyway, his website is here, [link]

Hey thanks, his stuff is really cool and I love his color choices. Did he used to work in pen and ink?

AnnaRDunster In reply to AngelaRizza [2013-04-23 05:32:07 +0000 UTC]
his original media of choice was colored pencil until he suffered an accident that made it too difficult for him to work in anymore. (it looks almost like paint or even digital media!) his colors have always been something I loved about his work. seeing some of those pencil pieces in person was just amazing. the depth and life to them is more than the digital images of them can convey!

Do you stipple in your artwork? It seems like it'd be quite time-consuming yet you seem very prolific so I can never quite gauge how you get that pretty, grainy sort of look to your pictures. I love the feather pattern on the owl and the striations on the crystals at its feet

AngelaRizza In reply to RADification [2013-04-20 21:37:09 +0000 UTC]
Yep, I stippled it all out with ink then colored it in photoshop. This one took about a week so yeah it does take up a lot of time, haha.

RADification In reply to AngelaRizza [2013-04-21 05:09:22 +0000 UTC]
That's honestly brilliant. The result reminds me of an old favourite picture book of mine that had the same stippled effect, though your pictures are far more complex. Thanks very much for answering, it's cool to understand some of the process for different artists' works.
