So my sister told me a story tonight...my other sister had a cat who had four kittens while she was staying with us. Two black males, a black and brown tiger female, and a tortoiseshell female. When she moved, she gave away some kittens. One of the kittens, a male, she gave away to a little boy who lived next door because his parents came over and said he could...
A while after, his parents came back and asked for another one...because their son KILLED the other one. It. Was. Dead.
I watched that kitten come into the world. I named that kitten. I loved that kitten. I played and helped nurture that kitten. I was there when it opened its eyes. I did that to ALL of those kittens... and all of that care, love, support... to have a kid just KILL one of them?
I cried... believe me I cried when I heard this...I went straight to my cats and spent time with them and realized how much they mean to me. Especially Vinnie, the first cat on that stamp. The white one with golden eyes.
I took that picture myself a while ago. He's been with me for a very long time.
I started crying just writing this.
ANIMALS ARE PRECIOUS THINGS AND SHOULD NOT BE TREATED UNFAIRLY
Sure, I understand hunting. We hunt animals for food, that's fine. That's what they're there for.
But to TORTURE? No. THEY'RE NOT YOUR PLAY TOY! I don't care if you're a family member of mine, a friends of mine, or even in a relationship with me--if you don't care about how animal abuse is such a huge issue or you support any bit of it, then you are one less person I want involved with my life.

Take Shark finning. These people cut of the fins of a shark and then (Sometimes) THROW them back into the ocean where they can be killed by other predators. Nearly 100 to 200 million sharks are killed a year.
Also take elephants. www.google.com/search?q=ivory+… These people kill elephants in order to trade parts of the elephants body to other humans.
I understand that this stamp is made for all animals, but shouldn't there be more animals on there?

I just want you to know all who harm animals for fun will going to hell. I really hate it myself every time those animal abuse comercils come on both me and my dad want to cry. It's a living, breathing creature. I have two dogs and two cats and I love them to death. They make me laugh and they're so loyal and lovable <3

I would not just go ask for another kitten - I would be so ANGRYYYY at the boy for freaking MURDERING the cat! They shouldn't act like it's an animal and they don't really need it - they need to appreciate it's family! Geeze, that boy has problems - how could or can you kill a KITTEN?!

Oh, I just hate watching poor creatures suffer! Everyone is born happy, gentle and kind. It's the influence or pain caused to make them fearful, angry, or defensive. I wish people would just stop torturing animals because their own lives are messed up! They're not gonna get any sympathy that way.

Someone killed one of my cousins cats today, they found her tied up in a plastic bag.. I feel bad for that kitten, i don't understand why people are so cruel to animals..

I eat animals, but I think they (except domestic ones) should NOT be killed for ANY other reason other than for food :/

I totally agree with this. I want to adopt all of the abused animals in the shelter and show them just how loved they can be. People are cruel and just plain inhuman.

I agree, Animals are equal to Humans and should be treated with respect.
I also agree with the hunting for food part, nearly all Animals hunt other Animals for food, it's a part of nature. But torturing Animals is just cruel and sick.

Wow, that's a sad story.
I do understand the hunting part, but there's a borderline between hunting and killing for FOOD and hurting animals for FUN or because you're MAD. There's no need to make animals suffer because it's enjoyable. Hunting them though, in my opinion, is okay. They were put on this earth to feed us, it's the circle of life. But what type of sick, twisted person thinks it's fun to beat/abuse/etc animals? Sickos.

And us to feed them, that's a circle of life as well, then again I'm not religious though I used to go Catholic school, glad I abandoned it, and I'm not Pro-Humans for many, many reasons. I really feel no pity when someone gets attacked out of stupidity either. People who are so isolated that need to hunt for food, they take humbly with what they can like every other animal should, not sport hunters who kill 'en Mass. I remember the video of the bow hunter on that male lion. That was a slow, slow, miserable death and by the time poor thing fell, it looked like a pin cushion.

I agree with everything. Parents these days(not all) are so careless and they let their kids grow up to be future criminals or plain ol jerks. I seen plenty of it at my old schools and others who are good suffer from it. It's different from humans being horrible to other humans. It is awful, but to think an animal is just a toy? Animals such as kittens are not toys, and to me the boy is just treating it as a short term item and threw it away when he got bored. Animals have feelings. They're like humans but express in a different way
If you don't mind me sharing a story... I had a dog once, she passed away happy instead of terrified and relieved to leave such abuse. My mom got her for me as a gift and because we both saw the abuse she went through. My dog was force to sleep to in the garage all tied up to a post, and still tied up when they're gone, but inside when they are around. She gets nervous if you pet her because she was hit for doing things. She roamed free under my care and we never do any hitting or anything. I'm glad you did the same for your cats; a great family to belong to makes a happy pet or pets.
I heard other abuse and it breaks my heart. I hope it stops.
