Notice how the dates featured are mostly in the 1920's and 30's, even a couple in the 1910's. All of that was nearly a century ago. Unlike our ancestors who didn't know any better, we would have done something if it happened now.

The sad thing is, it's happening now. Especially with the different species of Frogs out there in the world. If you read the book "100 heartbeats" by Jeff Corwin it will really open your eyes to how many animals still need our help out there. Even creatures like the California Condor are still in need of dire assistance. It's hard to imagine that an animal with a 9 foot wing span can be suffering so much. Not to give you (or anyone) in particular a rant about how "we humans are so horrid". I just want awareness to be there that we have made huge differences, but there are still things we need to work on.

You have been featured in the final installment of the A, B, C's of Horror. You can find the entire article here ; Z is for Zoo, after all.

I do enjoy that factor about it, and the people who put up the display in the first place... yeah absolutely amazing idea. I actually saw this at a Zoo, which makes it even better.

Is it just me, or is the Tasmanian wolf (thylacine) in there twice??
Also: Stellar's Sea Cow, Passenger Pidgeon

Plus a number of others that are functionally extinct (baiji) or facing extinction (Mekong Giant Catfish), etc., etc.

I think I should create something like this in my front lawn. Great idea and so sadly true.

This exhibit (if I can call it at) I actually saw at a Zoo, so I stopped to take a picture of it because I thought it was a really cool idea. Then I just realized how creepy it was an that it needed to be posted on DA. XD
It is a great idea, and sadly true. I wish I could have gotten more of the lot in this picture, because there were many, many more than just these.
