well, i had originally planned to use the outfit for astrid, but then i put it down and decided it was too mature for her, so i just created a new character. thus, leila (didnt wanna use Layla...too common lol)

anyway, i decided to experement w/ something other than boots and found out that the only reason i draw boots all the time is cause its the only thing i really know how to do when it comes to shoes

the outfit was designed around the skirt, but when i got the idea for the thing that looks like it was cut off of a sailor fuku, i didnt know how to put it in there, so i connected the two XD

i got the idea for the skirt while watching the Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou concert (cause aya hirano was wearing one similar) then the idea for that thing on her shoulders i got, actually, from watching season three of Avatar: The Last Airbender cause toph has those things that hang down her back and i realized i loved them in "The Runaway" when she was running away from the camera (if thats what u can even call it) ^^
