I did this for a color process video which can be found at[link]
It's not so much a how to but I will explain here what I mostly used
-gradient tool
-pencil tool for some flat work
-magic wand
As you'll see in the video my usual shortcut for flats came back to bite me in the ass. I'd chosen this lineart because it'd be quick and easy but it wasn't as high res as I thought so I had to keep fixing where my flats went outside the lines. On normal 300-600 dpi stuff it works fine though. Normally I don't have to clean up my flats at all.
You can also watch as I'm pretty much like fuck the background.
I only save once during this but normally I save very frequently. This was kind of a rush job but hopefully it helps you guys. Let me know if you have questions about anything I did here.

btw I wanna know how you do flats...cuz flats take me the longest...the rest of my process is pretty solid...I do like the way you layer too very ingenious!

this is how I do flats, it's amazing for clean lineart. But it doesn't work quite as well for your stuff since you have a lot of open gaps and stuff in your lines so it won't always work.
