Description
We were friends once, you remember?We'd laugh and talk for hours.
Out in a sort of paradise
Amongst the trees and flowers.
We were happy then, regardless
Of what we had to do,
And you knew not of the rush
I felt as I was there with you.
I told you once "I love you",
And our friendship disappeared.
Suddenly, our "paradise"
Became my place of fear.
You never said a word that day
Just far away you went
The pain was like my tender heart
Was from mine own chest rent.
What I would not give
To go back there again
To pluck those words out of the air
Put them in my mouth again.
What I would not give
To see you smile for me again
To hear you talk to me again
To see you look at me again
You deserve an epic poem,
Love song one hundred pages long
But anyone to label me
A poet would be wrong.
So I'll take these simple words
And make a poem with the parts
In hopes that getting all this out
Will soothe my aching heart.
As I look upon this pixeled page
And my stomache starts a-sinkin'
I re'lize you'll never read this
And that it's all just wishful thinkin'.
