I have so much to say but so little space. This has been a really weird year for me. Everything possible has happened, good and bad things. I think my attitude has changed towards online art galleries and some distance was needed for me to see what this place has now become. I started painting this piece a very long time ago when I used to be very lonely all the time. I wanted to paint something overly romantic and it gave this a fantasy look, but now looking at this I'd do the whole thing without the fantasy look. I've realised how small things can make me happy if they come from the right person. It kinda takes the point away from dreaming when real life is thousand times better. Thank you for all the new watchers out there and the old ones too. I don't hope you like it I hope you think it.Here are some DETAILS

Mikko, you're right about smiling when kissing. If you're sincerely and seriously in love and it's your first kiss, you will more likely cry than smile.
I had this wonderful moment with my best friend in a concert last week, when he suddenly took (and held) my hand in his hand, very gently. He took me by surprise, since... he's straight and I'm not. We didn't speak a word, there was no need to. Neither did we smile, because it was not a funny thing - it was something beautiful, important, deep and serious - in a very profound way. I had a hard time not crying... never felt better.

If you're revisiting this theme, why not paint the situation 5 seconds after the kiss - perhaps a long hug and a tear of happiness out of realised love? That's one of the best moments in life. And no, in that situation you don't laugh and you don't smile, even though you're happier than ever.

Absolutely gorgeous work. I love the intimate atmosphere, and especially how surreal the environment feels in comparison with the ordinary appearance of the two men. The details, like the butterfly and the folds on the clothes, are freaking beautiful.

Really beautiful piece. I like it without any fantasy stuff- it doesn't need it. It's just gentle and genuine as is. Wonderful lighting pulling down between the trees and highlighting their faces with such a soft glow.

I like everything about this except the physiognomy of the kiss. I think a reference image would have helped, but the guys look like a couple goats trying to butt heads. The coloration, the texture of the light, the composition are all really wonderful. I think it's just the alignment of the mouths that's not quite right.
