May it please Your Majesty,

It has been three moons since I last wrote to Your Majesty and eleven moons since the last response. Your Majesty’s last letter to me gives a twinge of bleakness even after all this time. I do hope Your Majesty does not feel defeated, this country has suffered through worse fates… I think so anyway. I do hope i am not wasting ink and that Your Majesty does still read these. I keep convincing myself that Your Majesty does, it means Equestria isn’t lost… it means I am not lost. I do not write to bleed out any melancholy, not unintentionally anyway.

I write to give information. I do not know of the condition of Canterlot or its ponies but any aid is good aid. As Your Majesty requested, such information within this letter is classified to only the highest ranks of Equestria. As Your Majesty stated; the last the citizens know, the better. Although they are not stupid, they sense trouble afoot and there is only so much one can do to quell any fear. I fear mass hysteria will soon take over ZONE F-3. But no such thoughts should take ahold of me right now.

I ask that Your Majesty disperses all information in this letter to all Royal Guards:

The known stages of the virus have now been catalogued.
This is NOT a definitive list and is subject to change.

STAGE I

The Host is bitten and infected. A white scar should be an indication of infection along with a white mucus that has been confirmed to also pass the infection if contact is made. As far as we know these are the only transmittable ways, although how it started remains a mystery.

The Host at this stage will appear more or less the same pony. Paranoia will set in, most likely from being bit in the first place. They become agitated and flighty.

If you find any pony or creature with a bite, you are ordered to kill. If there are others within the household, you are ordered to kill any other residents.
There is no saving them once they have been infected. We cannot risk anything.

STAGE II

The infection begins.
The Host will develop flu-like symptoms, experience feelings of apathy or a sense of dread. They will begin to lose weight, fur and hair, their colour also seems to lose its colour. It cases that are further along the Host will start to become blind. This stage lasts a week.

The infection area will begin to grow the roots and soon will spread all over the body. Some Hosts have been spotted coughing up petals and leaves.

If you find any pony or creature showing symptoms, you are ordered to kill. If there are others within the household, you are ordered to kill any other residents.
There is no saving them. We cannot risk anything.

STAGE III

The contagious stage.
The Host is now in a frenzied state. Blind, decaying and roots beginning to grow rapidly, these are no longer ponies. They are incredibly vicious and dangerous, approach with caution. Will attack and eat other ponies, however left alone will begin to eat themselves. Mimics voices, do not listen.

CAUTION: The ‘Tears’ they secrete are contagious. Do not touch.

Kill upon sight.
There is no saving them.

STAGE IV

The Host is now immobile, rooted to the ground.
This is the most dangerous stage contrary to belief.
Appear to have a siren-like affect, lures victims and can still bite.
Glowing eyes giving a hypnotic effect, ignore it.
They can mimic voices, do not listen to them.

No current way to stop the Host at this stage. Quarantine the area.

STAGE V

The final stage.
They pose no threat anymore and produce fruits. It has been confirmed that these fruits do not pass on the virus however spoilt fruit has not been confirmed.

By order of Her Majesty, Queen Celestia, these are not to be cut down. Any pony or creature caught attempting or confirmed to have cut down is to be prosecuted.

So far, NO cure has been successful.

While I do not know of the current state of ZONE E-4, or any other ZONE for that matter, it is imperative that this information is dispersed. I haven’t had any word from ZONE C-4 in four moons. The barriers are staying strong and the Crystal Empire is now denying entry. In some more positive news, Her Majesty, Queen Mi Amor Cadenza is pregnant. It looks to be a baby girl. I am torn, Your Majesty. How could someone bring a child into this world at this time? But… I’ll have niece. A niece I hope to see and play with one day. I want to see my brother, my parents… and you, Celestia…

OH MAN OH BOY, NO SURPRISE TO ANYONE I HAVE FALLEN DOWN THE MLP INFECTED AU RABBIT HOLE.

Watching TikTok after TikTok, it sent me back to when I first joined the fandom. I loved the horror stories, the cough being one of my favourites. I’d always wanted to make my own little story buuuuut I wasn’t ever confident enough to post such things. Now with this trend going around I’ve realised that I can do that now! So y’all are going to have to suffer with what my past self would have loved.

I will be developing this more but any suggestions for a name for this au would be greatly appreciated ^^
