----Arrival Day-----
It was Monday afternoon, there were clouds in the sky, and a bit of light rain, but that didn’t discourage Linda as she knew she would have fun this week at the Horse Expo. Not only does she hope to continue to get her and her stables (Free Rein Stables) names out there more, she also hopes she will meet a lot of new people, and possibly see some familiar faces as well. Linda was there with two of her horses; Antarctica, her 5 year old Canadian Donstrupper stallion and Zoltan her 2 year old Obertaurer colt. Though, as she looked up in the sky, she thought she should have packed a jacket or hoodie in case it got cold. The ferry had arrived at Ocean View Equestrian Center on Moore’s Island, which was just off the coast of Great Britain. She grabbed the two boys, and headed off the ferry. There was a pretty young lady and a couple other folks greeting everyone as they came in. The young lady introduced herself as Sasha, the Horse Expo organizer. Sasha had dark, dusty brown hair with green eyes and was taller than Linda; but lets face it, everybody is taller than Linda. Linda started asking Sasha all kinds of questions; about the Expo, rules, where things are, how things work, and also about how beautiful the island and venue was. Sasha of course answered the questions best to her ability, and handed her a map of the Island and the event schedule.
While the two ladies talked, Linda looked over the schedule and map. She then asked about the two classes being one right after the other, and asked Sasha if she thought they’d be able to make both classes? Sasha thought for a moment and mentioned that she’d be in the area tomorrow so she could hold Antarctica while Zoltan did his Halter class, then they could switch the two horses so Antarctica could do the Dressage class. Linda’s eyes grew big with hope. ‘Really?’ she said, ‘That would be so helpful and appreciated if you could. Thank you!’ she added. After saying goodbyes as Sasha had more folks to greet, Linda and the two boys went on to find the guest stables and guest rooms.
After getting the boys into the stables, she gave them food and water. Linda then looked over the event schedule and map again. She wanted to figure out a schedule for herself, of what she would be doing this week. She marked the Halter and Novice classes on Tuesday, she also marked a dressage clinic on Wednesday given by Kaira and Annette; who she had met once before at the RDHS show located at Cronenburg stables, she had just shown Antarctica at. She also noticed that there were breed demonstrations going on tonight, though it didn’t say what breeds would be there. But she still got excited and decided to go check it out. ‘There’s nothing wrong with looking, right.’ she thought. But first, she wanted to check out the vendor booth that sold Expo apparel and merchandise that Sasha had mentioned in their conversation. Linda headed towards the vendor area, looked for Booth 1, where she was told that particular booth was. As she looked around the Horse Expo booth, she bought a hoodie, a drawstring bag, a water bottle, some boot socks, and some shirts. She decided that going around to the other Vendor booths would have to wait until Thursday, unless she could find some time in between the other things she wanted to do on Tuesday and Wednesday. She then went on to look for the indoor arena where the breed demonstration was being held at.
When she finally found the indoor arena (it’s a big place ok!), it looked like a demonstration was just about to get ready to start, so she looked for a good spot to see everything. The lights dimmed, the music started and then a spotlight landed on one woman in the middle of the arena. ‘Wait, is that Kaira?!’ Linda said in a non intentional shout. After lowering her voice, she said: ‘I wonder what breed is she going to be talking about? I will have to make sure to ask her how she’s doing at her clinic.’ As Kaira started to sing, small fires were lit around the arena, and two horses and riders started doing their parts in the show. At first they were circling around Kaira as she sang, but they also did some other movements. After Kaira had finished singing, she started talking about the breed.
Kaira said: ‘This gorgeous breed is called Zlesdin. The Zlesdin was used for centuries as a cavalry horse - thus zlesdins have the high-spirit, fearlessness and alertness needed in a horse used for raiding and war. It is typically not a horse prone to 'spooking' at objects; indeed they have a reputation for being fearless - often their first response to a danger is not to flee, but rather to defend itself and its human. These horses are said to be 'tempered with fire'. ..of course, there are exceptions to these general attributes. They are a very loyal breed. The stallion with the blaze and one sock is named Ingi, who is also known as the King of Zlesdins. Igni is being ridden by his owner Seiger K. Sassayev, and is the only one that he will listen to. The mare with the star on her face and two small white leg markings is named Hilas Spinosa. Hilas is being ridden by Tran Thi Phuong, owned by Zdarloch Sejrbank.’ She continued on with explaining about the breed and these two particular horses and riders. As the demonstration was ending, Kaira had mentioned that they had a breed booth in the Vendors area, Location 2: Booth 26, if anyone wanted to learn more.
Linda became fascinated with the horses. As she was listening to Kaira explain the breed, Linda thought that the breed name, ‘Zlesdin’, had sounded familiar. Then she remembered that she had been given a breeding slot to Kairas horse named Mezuzah, for winning second place at the RDHS show. And if she was remembering correctly Mez was a Zlesdin. With even more curiosity, Linda watched the horses and riders riding around the arena. Then she noticed the big ring of fire as the horses and riders rode up to it. Then all of the sudden they jumped through it! Linda gasped at the sight. She was definitely curious about this breed and wanted to know more and of course she wanted to own a few. She marked down the booth location and number, so she can easily find them later. After the demonstration, Linda wanted to chat with Kaira, but saw that Kaira was pretty busy, so she decided to wait until later as she didn’t want to bother her. So instead she decided it was time to go to her guest room and get some rest, it had already been a long day.
-------Tuesday Day(Class show day)-------
On Tuesday early morning, Linda got up, got dressed, ate some breakfast and then went out to the barn to feed her boys. Then she got Zoltan and Antarctica bathed, groomed and ready for their show classes. Linda was hoping she would be able to do both Halter for Zoltan and Novice Dressage for Antarctica, even though the two classes were on the same day, one right after the other. Thankfully for her, she had met Sasha the day before when they arrived. Sasha had mentioned that she’d be in the area today and would help Linda out with transferring horses in between classes.
With Zoltan and Antarctica in hand, Linda walked towards Arena ‘I’ where the Halter class was showing, while also looking for Sasha. ‘There she is’ Linda said to herself. Linda walked over to Sasha and asked if she would still be available for helping her out. Sasha agreed and took a hold of Antarctica’s reins. Linda thanked her again, and walked Zoltan over to register them for the Halter class. Then they went to the entrance of the arena. The judges called for Linda to enter with her horse. Linda guided the young buckskin colt into the arena. She had Zoltan stand still for the judges. The judges then asked for them to continue on, so Linda guided him around the arena in the triangle pattern that you have to do in the Halter class, in order to show the horses conformation. Once finished, the judges said they were done and that they could leave the arena. Linda walked Zoltan out of the arena while praising him for a job well done, as this was the colts first show. They walked over to where Sasha and Antarctica were waiting.

Ok, so here is the first entry. Decided to post all these in order, so you can see the story at least. Thank you everyone for allowing me to use your characters and breeds. Please let me know if anything needs to be changed! I ended up having to trace the horse, cause time...... I did not use a reference for Linda. And yes, Linda is supposed to be winking. Don't know how to do that, and it was coming out like she had something wrong with her eye.
