Description
The Saltodont have participated in niche partitioning, rather than be pursuit hunters or Lithorachivores (analogous to insectivores) they are ambush predators, leaping down from branches and rocks onto prey such as Macrotops, Carnopods, Saltopods, and Lystrobrachids. Their shell has atrophied, turning into a structure for muscle attachment rather than defence, they walk much like an inch worm for this reason. The fang on either side of its mouth have evolved from parts of the shell.
