Born in Littleroot Town in Hoenn, Sidney remembers nothing of her birth town but a few tiny fragments of memory, as her parents, along with her of course, moved to Union City in the Issho region when she was only three years old. They dreamed of a better life for their family than simply being stuck in, in their humble opinions, the middle of nowhere. Sidney had a normal enough childhood for the most part, though she was always a quiet child. Her parents loved her, but couldn't understand why she never wanted to talk much, or never wanted to make friends. She made okay grades in school, but one never really knew what the girl was thinking about. She was often taunted and teased, but for the most part, it didn't really seem to affect her, at least on the surface. However, she grew moodier as she entered her teens, and eventually, in her final year of school, she got sick and tired of a prissy, bratty girl mouthing off at her, and punched her in the nose. And broke said nose.

Of course she was suspended and grounded. Stuck at home with two irritated parents who just didn't seem to understand that all she wanted in life was to be left alone, the equally irritated and antisocial Sidney was prepared to sulk the whole way through, until she could go back to school.

Fate, of course, had other plans.

A dark shadow of a beast with wings like the darkest night flew over Union City. The gigantic creature seemed hell-bent on destroying all that lay in its path, and it accomplished that goal with aplomb. In very little time, so much of the city had been destroyed. Including Sidney's house. So many lives had been lost. Including Sidney's parents.

Sidney herself had had to be pulled from the wreckage of her house after part of it collapsed on top of her. Critically injured, she was rushed to the hospital, where she remained in a coma for a few months. When she finally awoke, it was to the news that she had lost everything. It was the only time she could remember really crying. And the last time she would ever allow herself to do so.

Her left arm had nearly been crushed beyond all recognition, and it had extensive scarring and nerve damage. Scars practically littered the left side of her body. For a long time, every movement caused her pain. But something gave her the will to keep going despite all she had lost, and that thing was learning of Team Zephyr, and the role they had allegedly played in the attack on Union City. A burning anger had settled deep into Sidney's heart. A thirst for revenge. And so she went, every day, to physical therapy, and even did more of it in her own spare time. She found a place to stay, and kept it up, and eventually regained some small use of her left arm, though the appendage would never be as it once was.

Now, Sidney had never had any particular interest in pokemon. She knew what they were, sure, she even had a few favorites of the ones she knew about. But she had never really given any thought to going out and becoming a Pokemon Trainer of all things! At least, until now. Sidney wanted to completely and utterly destroy Team Zephyr. And there was, in her mind, only one way to go about it. The Pokemon League wasn't doing a damn thing, anyways. So she decided that she would. She put herself on the waiting list to receive a Trainer's License and a Starter Pokemon, kept up with her therapy and preparation, and waited.

Until one day, she finally got the call she had been waiting for...

She was going to get her Pokemon.

And Team Zephyr wouldn't see her coming until it was too late.

Sidney has eclectic taste in music, and will listen to most anything if it strikes her fancy.
Sidney works very hard to keep in good shape. Why should her pokemon be the only strong ones, hmm?
Sidney has massive scarring all along the left side of her body where a chunk of building fell on her during the Shadow Pokemon attack on Union City. Only the few on her face and a bit on her neck at times may be seen, she keeps the rest well covered. They are almost always aching in some way. She has learned to live with her pain, though sometimes it gets quite sharp.
She likes turtlenecks. A lot. Except when she gets too hot in them. But she still wears them in public.
Her favorite type of Pokemon is the Fire type.
Her favorite pokemon is Bouffalant. Because big fluffy moomoo with an afro. If only it were a Fire type...
She hates everyone. Until she decides she doesn't.
Sidney can't draw worth beans.
She has the best poker face ever. You can never tell what she is thinking. Until she gets angry.
