Thank you for tutorial and sorry for bothering you, but I tried to make lineart (it's was my first time) but the lines wasn't straight they were kind of wavy... do you know how i can get them straight like yours?

Hi miss Ariel, if you have anytime I would like to know if there's any possibility to get clean lineart on the app called art studio for iPhone and android. I'm having a difficult time with it, and it probably doesn't have any opacity or layer lock. Any suggestions or tutorials or your advice would help. Please and thank you.😎😇

hi no bother :3

Actually I decided that I'm going to make another line art tutorial cause the one I uploaded before is pretty old. (probs tomorrow or the day after)

I think I know what your problem is and I'll include it in the tutorial. But just in case I'm wrong,
*what program are you using?
*Maybe take a screenshot of what you mean? (if so upload it to your stash and link it to me) and I'll see if I can solve your problem

(umm its like 1am for me atm so I'll reply to you when I wake up in the morning)

ahh I see, yeah it looks like the pen pressure of your tablet isnt working on your pc. thats why the lines look wavy and like there done by a mouse. ummm this could be a technical issue on your end that you might have to figure out. Can I ask what tablet and computer your using?

I use a HUION P608N tablet, and a HP laptop (windows 8.1)

Annabel-m In reply to deidorimu [2014-08-05 02:21:07 +0000 UTC]

I see. Well your tablet should actually works on windows 8.1 so its weird that the pressure sensitivity isnt working.

try reinstalling your tablet and see if the pressure sensitivity works.

If not you'll probably have to do some research as to the cause of the problem (keywords like  - HUION P608N pressure sensitivity - should hopefully come up with some results on google.) But yeah the issue you have with the wavy lines it absolutely due to your tablet not showing any pen pressure, once you get that fixed the problem should be solved

I have been doing lineart for 2 years now, and it takes me REALLY long using the pen tool. the vector tool is easier for me, but i want it to look natural. what size pen do you normally use?

I do have a question, and it doesn't make sense with this tutorial, but sure enough WILL help me in this type of things: How do you merge layers in SAI?
And, btw, what is the pink line at the side of a layer? What does it do? I'm not a very experienced SAI user

So I have to do each thing of the line art in one layer? Like one layer for the hair, one for the skin, one for the shoes and so on?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Annabel-m In reply to FluffyandPuff [2014-04-09 00:14:29 +0000 UTC]

well personally i do a separate one for the face, hair and body. that way if i need to adjust anything i can do so without affecting much of the lineart

I don't know what line size used for what canvas size...can you help me ?
(I usually use a 3000x2000 canvas with a 1.5 pencil . but the result is not what I want é_è')

Annabel-m In reply to ArsGoethia [2014-04-02 13:38:11 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i would think using a 1.5px brush would be far too small for that size. i guess around a 6 would be an alright default size, just try adjusting it from there (higher or lower px)  to see what suits you but yeah 1.5 is way too small. also depending on your dpi too.

Thank you so much for all the tutorials. This one is particularly helpful, I got the crisp line with a touch of "wispy" feeling on it with your brush setting, just the way I want it to. I love your art style, the colors and overall feeling are just very... translucent, airy and light.
