At first I didn't see the spider but yes, the dof can help emphasize things like this.

May be the depth of field is too narrow for the fruit, I'm not sure of that...
When I try this, I do 3 or 4 photos with differents DoF, and I choose after ^^
I like a lot the similarities of the colors with the fruit and the spider. Great find
