I think I like the focus on this without any background taking the attention away from the subject, the balance and composition is quite good too.
And you got a good angle showing that petal as if it has a reflection of itself, the shades of yellowish green are quite soothing too. A beautiful photo!^^

I started off with a SLR cam using a 36 roll film, I think but I love it , now I'm using mostly digital; more convenient for me and finally I ended up with a mobile phone. XD
I'll give you my moral support, I used to call what I studied back the Architorture ^^
