Description
In this image a large bull Perucetus colossus breaks the ocean surface to catch a breath. A piece I initially wanted to accompany my other chunky whale image but didn't finish in time, but I've now reached a point where I'll call it done. For the face I went mostly with a basilosaurid appearance but with slightly blunted teeth - hinting at the suggested shellfish diet. How likely this is for an animal proposed to be so big may carry some debate, but hopefully more light will be shed on this colossal colossus in the near future!

along with other cetaceans and also a small maquette I built in clay to really help nail the lighting. Hopefully it's worked quite effectively to make the image convincing!
