RemiX Wildcard #6. Now before anyone flips their shit over how Puck isn’t a mutant, know that John Byrne did not necessarily intend that to be the case. The bizarre origin story of the “magical demon inside Puck that makes him strong but also short” is a bit of a retcon. He was definitely intended to be a natural little person but the Byrne plots (the first 30 issues) didn’t quite get around to explaining how he got powers, although I’ve always thought being a mutant is a simple explanation and makes sense.X-Rated version on my site, anti-heroes.net → members gallery → fan-boy → X-Men RemiX. Puck may be short, but his appendages most certainly are not!

As I am functionally ignorant of the Mutant's or X-Men's lore, I can only take this at face value, at which I find it's pretty damn good !!

Thanks!! I really wanted to stick a character into the mix who kinda didn't look like the rest. Puck is a great character- and maybe the best known Little Person superhero. I wanted to make him a hot daddy stud!

You know, I don't see this so much as being a Wildcard considering I feel like he belongs within the echelons of the X-Men mythos. To me, he makes sense to be included. Again... that's just me.
You did a really great job here. 
Also, I always loved how there's so much Shakespeare allusions in the X-Men mythos. Caliban, Puck, Ariel (when it was Kitty's codename)... and probably a crapload of others I can't remember.

Wow, really!? Well that's good! I was feeling like he might be not be X'ey enough to include. But I do think the truth is that many of his fans (and Alpha Flight's fans) are also X-Men fans. I kinda wish more of Alpha Flight were mutants, but somehow a lot of their origins get mixed up into fantasy and folklore. Oh, and you know Alpha Flight has been reunited for a new series, right? So Jean-Paul is no longer an X-Man. Let's see how long this lasts. I give it 6 months.
Thanks on Puck! I really wanted to make him "cute" but still aged, since he's often portrayed as kinda older looking. I know a lot of my fans dig the older-guy type, so I hope he covers that group. And thanks on the costume. It was fairly easy-- he's had almost this exact costume in the 90s. The thing about Puck is, his design is so genius (good ol' Byrne) that if you change his costume too much, he's no longer Puck.
Yunno, I always saw the hockey puck allusion before the fairy in Midsummer Night's Dream. 0__o

Well, I consider Alpha Flight to be an auxiliary X-Men team of sorts. They're very much tied into the X-Men's mythology and history so I kind of view them as kind of like an Avengers Great Lakes team to the X-Men's Avengers (or Avengers West Coast). There's a new Alpha Flight team?

Yea I think it was an online thing maybe and it gained popularity, so now they're making it a book. What's weird is that Northstar is one of the few X-Men featured in that stupid Destiny game-- so like if they really wanted to write him off X-Men for Alpha Flight, why plug him as an X-Man in other media?
Maybe he'll be like Wolvie and just magically be on more than one team at once.
