but yeah, this particular photo is my entry for APART's Exhibit called "Perfectio", which is going to be from August 20 to 27, 2008 in the Rizal Library, Ateneo De Manila University. I hope you guys could support this exhibit! So many amazing artists'll have works up there too!

hey! aw thanks for the criticism! I completely forgot to explain the brush part, and i'm kinda glad you understood that it was a brush, haha! (unless I told you before or whatever. oh noes!) Might as well explain the whole thing, actually.
Well, my concept was kind of vague, actually; ever since we discovered the white light my concept kind of got warped! So for this photograph, my idea was that I wanted my model to seem ethereal; almost goddess-like, as seen from the pose and overall glow of the photograph--reminiscient of the Greek goddesses who were considered "perfect"--- but I wanted to add the human element into it (flaws that disturb the idea of perfection; i.e, the flowing hair covering her face, the awkward composition, the uneven highlights on her body) since I didn't want to portray the norms of perfection outright. I believe that even if there's a universal idea of perfection, the concept of something "perfect" is still pretty much subjective.
So my intention for the brush was the whole idea of painting oneself, creating a facade of sorts. Itβs like the human way of trying to achieve perfection, or whatever. It's open for interpretation though~
I had a long explanation for the brush but it got deleted, so yeah.
my brain just melted i'm sorry. Hahhaha.
and oh, I wish I had the flowy clothing too, actually. Next time. Hahaha.
