Description This was one of the largest portraits I've ever done. The actual size is 61 x 41 inches. The idea was to use colour to create light and shadow. This was a challenge issued to me by a tutor. I liked the outcome, because it seems to look different in every light, so I consider it a success.

Very impressive, I love the use of color. It is the blues and the violets that give the face life! Is this watercolor?

Thanks. The photo that I painted this from was pretty crap to say the least - it was taken from a camera phone, in less than perfect light...but I do love a challenge
