the facial expression should say more. i feel it empty. i see no one has pointed this out. (i might just be crazy.) In itself, the concept of the butterfly being a goal, loved-one or some kind of (hope) is beautiful, but the face doesnt "sell" it to me. The hands are the main contribution to the emotion of the piece, and are positioned perfectly. They are incredibly powerful and beautiful. I would also wish the piece in which the subject is kneeling on was neutral and not as colorful because it distracts the viewer from what i believe youre trying to say. perhaps if it was a beige comforter, decaying and ripped and dirty, i would absorb your message faster and clearer.
