Description
The organization of Hellenic Army Aviation is: 6 brigades of transport helicopters: Each has 2 heavy transport helicopter companies, 3 medium transport helicopter companies, 4 general purpose helicopter companies and 3 attack helicopter companies, with company of 8 helicopters. The 4th/5th differs, they have one company of Mi-26 each. The numbers show the total number of helicopters, there are 3 "groups" depending on the material.1st/2nd/3rd CH-47, S-92H, AB-412SP, EC-665H+
4th/5th Mi-26s, AS-532, HC-2A, SA-342L
6th AW-101, AS-532, HC-2A, SA-341L + HC-2B
There are also 2 Special Operation brigades (7th/8th) with armed EC-635P2(H) and Pilatus RC-6 Turbo Porter, 2 fixed wing aircraft brigades (9th/10th) with OV-10H+ Bronco, OV-10T(H)+, EA-60B, MC-600A
and one training squadron with SA-319 Alouette III and MC-600T/A. Here we have only the helicopters of 1st to 6th Brigade.
Numbering system of Hellenic Army Aviation for both aircraft and helicopters is "ΕΣ ###" or "ΕΣ ####)", ΕΣ = Ελληνικός Στρατός, Hellenic Army.
