Description Deep in February, I post this watercolor as an Ode to the gold colors of spring....
A little light in the bleak winter...
Tassos Kouris
P.S. Sometimes I like the freedom of watercolor to break a little from the tight discipline of my style of oil painting...

We have a Dali exhibition on in Paris at the moment, which made me think about you. People queue for hours to visit it .. this work is particularly reminiscent of his overall viewpoint in abstraction, the floating figure, the table or alter below as in this case, and finally the mountains in the distant landscape. The colours also are in unison with much of his work, the spinning Don Quixote among others. But that is where the similarities cease and the work is quite distinctly yours. You have achieved an astonishing amount of detail, considering that you are using water colours, a remarkable feat in itself. An impressing work, I really like it, bravo.

Well, my usual medium is oil... but some times I like the freedom of water colours... Thanks John ... that is a compliment I needed...

Hai, i missed your paintings
i like how you made the watercolour look 'solid' in certain parts, almost as if you used oils~
The specks of gold are just lovely.

i personally prefer your oil paintings, but this is still a nice piece of work... After all, you just wanted to take a break from oils for a while

Extraordinary watercolor painting!
You really used all the effects and "life" of the colors to point out textures and diffrent elements. The light of the clouds and the sky and the landscape behind everything are suberb.
Wonderful work.

In Russia winter still dominates.
No signs of spring. It will come only in the begining of April.
Till than winter is our mastress.

I love the theme as well. It's very mysterious.

Beautiful, as always. I love how you did the gate thing on the sides, and yet you retain the feeling of freedom in the picture. The expression on the statues face is utterly gorgeous. well done
