Sadly, the real way Kharis lost is that he invented the iconic version of the mummy monster, but Imhotep keeps getting credit for it

I don't even know who Kharis is. The gal reminds me a bit of the redhead from "Young Sherlock Holmes" who was abducted and nearly sacrificed by some Egyptian gang in Victorian England.

Oh yeah! I definitely remember that movie. Check out my icon -- it's a capture from "Young Sherlock Holmes."

Now that you mention it, it does look familiar. Ever do any art from the movie?
Your user-name (Kali-Ma) reminds me of the high priest's words from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." Check out my site and you'll see why I recognize it.

Yep. My name is derived from the Hindu goddess Kali which is worshipped in that movie. I noticed you were a fan of the Indiana Jones films. I've never specifically done art from Young Sherlock Holmes, but it is tempting. Some great mummy wrapping scenes in that movie. Do you like that film?

I love it the film! Just got it on DVD. I often quote a line or two from it. I think of my fics as part of the genre, though with different characters.
Actually, I was in a Sherlock Holmes play (Crucifer of Blood) where one of the bad guys shot folks with darts that would make them hallucinate. And, as a nefarious British officer, I found myself zapped with a dart, in a heroin den of all places. Let me tell you, doing that play in H.S. at the height of the Nancy Reagan "Just Say No" campaign (and a Holmes line involves saying he uses cocaine to think better) was pretty touchy!
You should do some art from that! Maybe do a YSH sequel. After all, the bad guy does survive. Maybe have Holmes and Watson meet in college, and the former could have a new sweetheart.

Oooh! Would be fun doing a picture of a college-age Holmes trying to rescue his mummified sweetheart!
