Dragonaire used to be one of my favourite pokemons when I was younger, but it's evolution I found was.. well I thought it didn't suit it at all. Dragonite looks like Charizard's durpy brother >< So I went ahead and made what I thought should have been Dragonair's evolution.I was really inspired by *purplekecleon 's work, and her use of colours, so I tried to acheive that glorious use of colour in this drawing. It's mostly an experiment with colour, so that's why it's not a polished drawing :]

The title says 'Dragonite' but the blurb and picture are of dragonair.

How many people get this wrong.. *sigh* In the description, I say;
"So I went ahead and made what I thought should have been Dragonair's evolution."
Basically this is what I believed Dragonite should have looked like. Yes, it is not the dragonite you know, but it is what my interpretation of Dragonair's next evolution would be. If you compare a Dragonair to this picture, you'll see there are differences. Bigger wings, more orbs, an additional horn, different facial markings, a more angular head-shape, and rings around it's body.

Lovely. At first i didn't like Dragonite, but then he became one of my faves. BTW, What are the major changes between Dragonair on your Own interpretation of his evolution, power wise and design wise?

Well design wise, my version of dragonite has different markings, more beads (sphere-things?) and some rings around it, that maybe, I dunno, amplify its power? I didn't really give much though to it's power (abilities and such). It's up to one's imagination

I did a reimagining, too, a few years back. Totally agree that it doesn't fit the pokemon evo chain at all. I put wings on the finally evo that I made, though.

Ah yeah? What'd yours look like? A pair of wings would make sense.. seeing as dragonaire has wing-ear-thingers, a pair of actual wings would follow the suggested trend! x]

Fairly similar to this one...I should try to find it. LOL Did it back in highschool so it's probably in some sort of binder.
They were fairly small wings, I sort of transferred them from the head to about where the midsection of the rib cage would be. I also think I defined Dragonite as more wyvern as snake. More of an upper and lower body, though no legs. c: Leaves it open for maybe even a more defined dragon evo. Even if that is four evolutions. xDD
