Claude can be very unfair at times with his seemingly stoic attitude. He means no harm for the most part however. He is typically very understanding of one’s situation despite their background. Being raised in a pureblood home, he tries not to let his parents’ ways delude him too much from day to day wizardry problems. But he still remains extremely ignorant to a lot of muggle ways. It’s best to be patient with him come the case that you will have a debate about the muggle world. When you become friends with him, he is often gentle and kind to those he considers good friends.

He is an extremely ambitious individual-- perhaps overly so, often drowning himself in as much knowledge as he can before testing them on or with people. Feeling like books are his best method of instruction, besides professors, to become better, he will spend a great majority of his time nose deep in one.

Armed with quite the silver tongue, manipulation comes quite naturally to him. Due to the way he presents himself to others, it’s difficult to find people who stand by him of their own will as honest friends rather than his persuasion. This is his greatest flaw and asset which make him a great ally or a relentless enemy. Often times, he feels as though relationships with others are only superficial and unnecessary, but will still give it a shot.

His stubbornness often gets him in trouble with others as he usually feels their opinion is less worthy than his own. He indulges in heated arguments that he can win or argues until he gives up despite being wrong. He has a great amount of information in his head so he’s always cocky enough to start them with others. The only thing he finds rather boring to argue about is the validity of muggles and squibs.

History :

Theodore and Serah have always been top tier classmates during their time in Hogwarts. They felt as though they were suited for each other by the end of their years together and decided to marry. There was no spark of passion whatsoever between them. It was mostly because they were skillful and adept purebloods being rather familiar with one another. Both rather rigid individuals that do not bend to the will of anyone, they did not have a very social relationship either. It was all political in order to preserve their line and in the end they produced Claudius.

Born into an established line of purebloods, Claudius was raised with strict parents who only wanted him to succeed at his best. He was a rather quiet, studious child. Books acted as his safe haven from the ongoing familial pressure in his home. His family drilled a lot of stubborn and ignorant views/ways into him, like the distrust in strangers or the way muggles do not belong in their society. Much of this was due to the fact they had a strong prejudice against them and wanted much of the exact same from their son. Claude tried very hard to think otherwise but eventually he started believing them little by little.

Eventually, fate offered him an opportunity to escape the mundane lifestyle of a pureblood on his eleventh birthday when an owl delivered his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. At about the same time, he also received his snowy owl -- Quinn-- from his relative who attached a letter warning him of the remnants of pureblood supremacy in the world outside of his family so that he himself would not be influenced.

Claudius took heed and tried to make a positive influence on people despite being Slytherin. They already have a bad reputation within all the different houses. Despite this, he made many attempts to be kind, his coldness often scaring others away. Due to people often ignoring him or dodging him out of fear, he lost the will to make any real social interactions with others--soon feeling that they were inferior as well, his parents’ ways slightly rubbing off on him as he became more anti-social. When it came to school, however, his marks are always high and never failed\ to impress come to assignments. This led him to become more involved in studying different spells and potions in order to progress faster than what the assignments were given. He was impatient when it came to school work, always wanting the fastest result. He eventually started to become very attached to the game Quidditch and started practicing for it in hopes of making the chaser role.

Claudius personally finds threat of the muggle world to be non-existential. More often than not you’ll see that he will dismiss anything muggle related immediately. He finds the topic to be exhausting and rather silly since he believes that muggles pose no threat to witches and wizards. In fact, he feels many wizards and witches always have to make sure they are protecting the muggles.

Theodore Carson Gray - “Pureblood”
In his day a significant member of the house of Slytherin. He passed down the legacy to his son, Claudius whom he raised with high expectations. Despises half-blooded wizards and witches alike; discriminates squibs. He has a rather shady background, some say he was somehow involved with the Dark Arts and others say that he should’ve been imprisoned in Azkaban. However, no trials were ever held as there was no evidence that was ever found pertaining to this trail.

He is a calm, stern and straight-forward gentleman who does not care much for the opinions of those “lower” than he. Often, speaking loudly and boldly at those who come at him with proclamations.

Serah Diana Gray - “Pureblood”
A calm collected woman who met Claudius’ father at the end of their seventh year in Hogwarts. She played no significant role in the discrimination for muggles however she shares the same opinion as her husband, Theodore. She typically resides in their residence and rarely leaves unless for business with the Ministry.

She is a collected individual but powerful and sweet with words.

Claudius is not familiar or know much of his relatives outside of his immediate family.

Extra :

- Claudius is a book worm of extreme cases. He resolves all his issues and pent up frustrations by reading a really long book or just sitting in the library for hours. You can most often find him in there or in the study hall.
- He dislikes loud noises or loud people especially when they make a fuss over nothing.
- He’s an introvert for the most part!
- Doesn’t understand most social interactions well and ends up being awkward. He’ll grow out of this with time for sure!.
- He plays the piano actually when he’s stressed out or just for the extracurricular.
- His face always naturally frowns and pouts.
- Has a staccato in the way he speaks, he really likes to enunciate his words properly.
- His accent is english.
- He’s near sighted only a little bit. Sometimes when he has a headache from squinting or leaning in close to a book, he’ll put on his glasses.
- He also ties his excess hair in a ponytail when he’s studying.

Archibald Cyril - “Rival” and friend

"An interesting individual, for sure...

I met him around the second year of Hogwarts. He was a new first year, very young and naive. Archibald plopped himself right next to me during lunch and free periods which I found rather unnerving. Often times, he would ask a ton of irritable questions until I had to ask him to leave. Eventually, when he was skilled enough to attend dueling class he caught me completely off guard. Blasting my wand and myself away, I was struck with this unbelievable magical energy-- from a half-blood no doubt. It was then, I was fueled with a lot more reason to study harder other than to excel in my works but with my skill as well. We argued much afterwards and glared at each through certain discrepancies in our theories for certain things. I called him a mud-blood and we stopped talking for a couple months after an arguement. Only until a couple weeks later after I figured I'd scared him off for good, he came back with the biggest apology. Accepting it without much of a second thought-- not to mention returning an apology for my insensitive choice in words... only granted him permission to continue to pester me. We would frequent duels as well but Archibald became more of a friend than a pestering rival after hanging out with him for a year or so. That doesn't stop me from pushing myself because of him though. So he's very much still my rival, in a sense." (TBC)
