Very interesting concept. And I disagree with the argument to photoshop the strings out because then this photograph will loose its ''truthful'' look. Even if I'm surely not against surreal work but it think here it doesn't fit. 
And I personally like your decision to leave the interpretation to the viewers..

Oh, oh, oh! Its like eating donuts on strings like we did in my elementary school but its cherries and your eyes are covered! And cherries are better then donuts too, they don't make you feel sick when you eat too many!

this sort of gives me the feeling of someone who's blind looking for love.. "blind" here doesnt literally means no sightings, but blind in a way where they're too naive to know things about love.. hmm and the sweet face of the person gives additional touch too
