Orochimaru (大蛇丸, Orochimaru) was one of Konohagakure's most celebrated ninja: the legendary Sannin, but defected from the village in pursuit of his own self-seeking desires, such as learning every technique. They ought to have explained somehow about the Kusanagi sword... They didn't explain where it came from, even though it's apparent that it had something to do with Orochimaru's gradual corruption.
I have a feeling they could have explained how he got that weapon.

I´m not sure whether it was your intent or not, but the way he is portrayed here I would even say that he hardly looks like a villain. No that it´s a bad thing mind you, just different....nicely done though.
