Find this shot extremely pleasing to view. The composition is extremely good and the ridges in the sand of the foreground draw you further into the shot. Part of the beauty of this shot is its simplicity, which is further emphasised by being in black and white. One small point, and it is small, I would have taken out the sunspot in photoshop as it does slightly detract when enlarged, and, for me, spoils the flow of your view further into the picture, as your eye is drawn towards it initially. This shot, to me, shows the sheer beauty of our world but also allows the viewer to use their own imagination.

Thank you so much for sharing this photo.

Simon

Thank you so much for the feedback. It was wonderfully detailed and helpful. Good point on the sunspots. I'll have to figure out how to take them out. I'm a terrible noob when it comes to photoshop. I can do the basics and that's about it so far.

You are welcome, as for photoshop etc, I am new to it but try using either the healing brush tool, or the clone tool. No doubt there are details on this site somewhare or online in general. I use healing brush tool to get rid of dust spots in my photos that are caused by crap on the camera sensor.

I hadn't thought of the healing brush. I thought of the clone tool but I don't want it looking obviously shopped. I'll have to play with it some. Maybe I'll look for some tutorials on youtube as well. Know thy tool and all that good stuff.

Absolutely beautiful BW work. The lighting and contrast are near perfect, and I really love the composition!

Nice tone and contrast and just the right angle for the light to bring out the ripples.
