My kitty, Jaxy-kat. She was such a cute little thing, had this cute, tiny little frame and the softest meow. And she'd sleep with me at night, and ... as odd as it sounds, I talked to her a lot. She knew all my secrets and she always seemed to know when something was wrong because whenever I'd cry, she'd leap up into my lap and meow. And she'd always make me feel better.If things were a bit different, she might still be with me. But she's not.
According to my mother:
She died because my mom's neighbors didn't like her too much. And they decided they'd feed her something poisonous.
It's a shame, really, that there are people in this world who would think to do something like that.
My speculation:
I was suspicious before, when she told me that stuff.
My mother just didn't take care of her. She was always immature about that kind of thing; she didn't like to take responsibility for her wrongs. A lot of times, she'd even pin shit off on me. If I asked her to tell me the truth, I don't trust her enough to even think for a minute she ever would.
Jax had a lot of medical needs. And my mom was poor after my dad left her. So instead of taking her to the vet, I think she probably spent her money on drugs. And left my cat to die.
That was the last mistake I made with her; trusting her enough to take care of my cat when I couldn't. I haven't talked to her since.
Edit: Made a few additions to my comments to further explain my thoughts and feelings on the ordeal. It's been almost four years now, but I'm still bitter over it. And rightly so.

I feel that it represents many cats, going up to heaven...
I had a special bond with my cat also.
He was a black cat too and he died on Friday the 13th of Feb 2004. In 2009, there will be another Friday the 13th of Feb. (5 year anniversary of when he died) and I am going to get him tattooed onto my back to commemorate him.
I would love to be able to draw something as pretty as this to give to the tattoo artist.

If I ever decide to talk to my mom again, it's definitely something I'll confront her about since I don't even know if that's actually what happened anymore. I think she blamed them when she told me about it so I wouldn't be angry at her.
I had to update my artist's comments so people wouldn't keep posting about what big assholes the neighbors were. I really think the blame lies with my mother and not with them. =/

I can't understand people who don't like animals.
I've been allergic to cats, dogs, birds, mice, ferrets etc. for my life and I would like to have a cat, more than anything in my life but I simply can't.

You commented so long ago... I'm a little late in responding. It's been about a year and a half since it happened. I posted the picture a long while after the incident occurred.. And I was looking over the comments and saw this and wanted to respond to your question. I may have said this in another post but I'll say it again anyway:
My mother told me after it happened that she'd gotten a laywer and an investigation was underway. However, knowing my mother and her financial situation, she wouldn't hire a lawyer to do jack shit. When I asked her about the investigation she gave me slightly different answers than what she'd given before, which lead me to believe that she'd lied to me. I've only spoken to her twice in the past year. I told her that I didn't want to have anything to do with her if she can't tell me the truth about a simple thing.
There was no investigation. There was no punishment. I don't even know now if that's really how my cat died. I could fucking hit her for lying to me about it, but I'm better than that.
The sad truth is that I will probably never know. .___.

^^ Reminds me to my cat kalled "Kizu". You see her, her brother Timo and her children a few times in my gallery. we have about 5 cats now, when Miyako is gone and Thrax stays by us. ~ I always talk to Kizu, and she is so kind to always reply...
And I think you and me are not the only one`s on that world who think that they can understand us. ~
I just remember the day we got her, a littler longer than a year ago. She and her brother, just 9 week old kitten, and they hated us to death. Kizu is japanese for "Scratch", and that was the first thing I got from her. She was wild. But with the time beeing, she learned to trust us, and I think she, her brother, her children and our two old cats didnt have the baddest life at our house. Anyway.. I tell you stupid story`s but that can`t bring your kitty back... ;.; ~ I`m sorry for you... I probably would give you one of Kizu`s children If I could, but 1. its too far away.. and second.. Thrax himself, the last child of kizu that still is avaiable, won`t be a replace for your cat, never. Maybe you meet another cat one day that you love like you loved your cat killed by your neightbours, but... it will never be a replace. :/

No, nothing will ever replace her. But like I said before to someone else, I can take some solace in the fact that one day I can have another kitty, and I can take as good of care of her as I did of Jaxy, and give her a wonderful, long and happy life.
No, the stories aren't stupid. I like hearing other peoples' kitty stories. The pictures of your house are very lovely; and if your kitties are as well taken care of as your yard appears to be, then they must be happy kitties! ^___^
...Kizu looks a lot like Jaxy. She has the same mottled brown spotting over her black fur. She's so precious, especially in the picture where she's curled up around her kittens.

When mother`s cat Molly had an accident last year and died, too, she wanted another kitten who is so lovely like Molly was. I`m working in a hospital, and ... coincidence or not, next day our doctor walked around with a picture of little kittens, wanted a home for them so they don`t have to die. I tooked that picture home with me and my mother and I couldnt choose which kitten to take.
Mom wanted to have the sweet little black&white one, and I wanted the kitty with the white stripe on her nose. Yeah.. when she was a baby, it was white. XD
So we got both. Kizu and Timo. And see... Timo is a male, and we thought already "oh oh!" when Kizu got her kittens, but... Timo cared about them. XD Funny or not.. Normally male cats... are danger for little kitten, but Kizu didnt care about, maybe she knew Timo wont harm them. ~ X__x our Cats are really... seldom. Timo always brings his ball back when he played with it outside and lay it down in a basket in our floor, and Kizu .. is a beggar. She wanted to taste everything we eat at the table. And equal what it is, she eats it. ~ But only when she gets it directly from our table.

We had a cat once, though it ran away when I was, what, 6 months old? I never knew it, it was called Clueso.
Back to the picture...the shading and light effects are simply astounding, the pose is beautiful, as are the wings...I'm sure your cat is in a much better place.

being an avid cat lover and owner, i had a kitty who died 2 years ago. i feel your pain, and i'm very sorry about your kitty too. it's very tragic especially becuase animals are so helpless sometimes against people, whom they have come to learn to trust.

I have to +fav this beacause of my kitty also.
Lola was the best cat ever, but she was really old. She was 16 or something. Lola was a lot like how your cat sounded. All of sudden when we move to Wisconsin she got really sick. That night I said i would stay with her all night but I fell asleep. When I woke up she was in the middle of the hallway. She was trying to get to my room. I was so sad. I still am sad really. I miss her a lot and probably will never stop missing her.

We had a cat named Anna belle who was 19 when she died (I was 18 at the time, and it was after Christmas in 2001). I had grown up with her since my parents had her since before I was born. Her kidneys just stopped working, so she had no way to get rid of the wastes in her body, and she was in a whole lot of pain. I rushed her to the vet, but there was nothing they could do for her. They told me that her body was just too old and it was her time to go. So they tried to make her comfortable and she died without any pain. I missed her a lot, and I still do, but it was different when she died. She wasn't killed, she just was too old.
But she lived a wonderful life with us, just as I'm sure Lola was quite happy with you. I think cats have the best lives when they get to spend it all with one family; they grow up with those people and see them grow up too. They get to know their families and come to love and respect them (I say families because to me, a pet is part of the family, not an object of ownership). You can never replace the loved pets that you've lost, but you can show the same love and care for new kittens who come into your home and give them equally enjoyable lives of their own.

That's horible... My sister had a cat too. Leo. We both loved him... One day when she was away, he disapeared... Weather it was poisoned by the neighbour, who was always bitching that Leo ate his chickens, which I doubt, or the local children, or simly the fox got him, we will never know... But we miss him a lot. My sister especially. It broke her heart...

I'm sorry. You should inform the authorities, there are laws against doing that to animals. Those evil neighbors can be arrested and spend a lot of time in jail for what they have done. it'll never bring your kitty back, but perhaps it will save anyother animal that may have fallen in their sights. Yeah, coincidentally, my boyfriend is studying to become a lawyer and advised me on what I might be able to do. Unfortunately, I wasn't around when it happened, and all I have to go on is my mom's word. She said she'd gotten a lawyer to help her in the situation, but every time I'd try to ask her questions, she'd try to avoid the answers.
I've not talked to her in a few months, so I don't know what's going on now.
But there is nothing that I can do now, and I just hope that whatever happened to her, or whomever killed her, can be justified and she can rest easy.
