This was my entry for the FFXIV gear design contest in May/June. Sadly I did not make it to the finalists, but at least now that the results are out, I can finally post this online.
Obviously it's ancient egypt inspired, with the headpieces based on ancient egyptian gods that I believe match the job classes. In case the text is hard to read, hereβs a recap:
MNK / SAM / NIN: Bastet - cat goddess of warfare, dancing and perfumes
BRD / MCH: Montu-Ra - falcon god of war
DRG: Sobek - alligator god of fertility and winning fights
BLM / SMN / RDM: Thoth - ibis god of writing and knowledge
PDL / WAR / DRK: Wepwawet - white wolf god of war
WHM / SCH / AST: Sekhmet - lioness goddess of warfare and healing

Seeing as how SE likes to be a stickler for rules, I can see one reason why it might not have made it, the inclusion of designs for not melee DPS gear. THis is amazing and I love this a lot more than many of the designs that made it.

If you look at the rules and then at the contestants, you'll see that there's quite a few who didn't send in the required front BACK view. In addition some who didn't include detail shots of covered parts of the armor. And there were also two artists who got TWO entries in, despite the rules stating that only one entry per person was allowed.

That is pretty weird. I thought it was maybe one per category. Also did it all have to be in one image? They might have had more than one image if the image size was too big, but I don't remember the link to double check.
