Description
This is my first finished metal work. I made the earring on the left first and since it turned out pretty large I decided the other one should be of a different size and shape.Materials: Pure copper, Sterling silver.
Methods: Annealing, hammering, soldering, fire patination, buffing

I like the novelty of the design. Very whimsical and fun. I see this as a very costume type piece. Steam punk type would be my preference.
I also like the burn effect on the metal. It gives the piece a worn feel. The pearl accents also give it some class.
I also like that they are not perfect mimics of each other. That asymmetrical style makes them more appealing to me.
Unfortunately, I see it as such a costume piece that I don't think it would function in casual wear.
Very fun and overall interesting. I'd like to see them matched with something more common to see their versatility.

These would be stunning even without the silver accents. I'm finding myself both inspired and reminded of something I tried as well, which was just lengths of wire bent to shape, hammered flat and polished up before being fitted with fish hook fittings for earrings. I like that you've got the post style fitting, a lot of people won't wear the hook style. I'm impressed by these.

Gorgeous! Do you plan to coat them in anything to preserve the patina? I've just started heat patina-ing copper.

I'm going to experiment with that, I'll try some wax and see how it goes, although I know, theoretically, that it would change the appearance of the colours. We'll see ! Here is a good deal of info if you'd like to read: [link]
