Well, the Canon 7D is pretty good, but I think the Canon 400mm f/5.6 L lens has made a huge difference to my pictures.

Thank you. They are a native bird also known as kereru. Large, slow and not too clever. Now very very protected due to their traditional appearance on menus.

They sound tasty! It's funny how things get protected (I think I heard somewhere that swans "belong" to the Crown here, because Henry VIII found them so delicious!)
All wild birds are protected in the UK - but woodpigeons can be shot as a farm pest with a licence; so sometimes appear on menus here (woodpigeons are certainly not endangered here!)

Eating kereru is a great way to get negative press. lol.
