Is the V'ger model mostly mesh or teture maps? Looks good either way.

Layers and layers of texture maps. Other than the usual color, spec, and bump, there is lumin, diffuse, and some reflection. And thanks.

Sounds like it would be almost impossiable to convert it for Poser then- at least not without ALOT of work.

Not at all. the original files are wavefront .obj.

Really?! I thought I'd heard they were in 3Dmax. Humm. I'll have to come up with a reason to use it.

Oh noes! 3dsmax is the only program I can't do ANYTHING with. I have lightwave which can (on most files) use .3ds, Wavefront .obj, .lwo (of course) and .dae collada. Usually though with .dae I have to use blender and export as a wavefront .obj.
The mesh is at scifimeshes [link]

That's one thing I've never understood. Poser is supposed to be able to import Lightwave- since P5 at least. But I have never been able to get it to do so.
I'll download the file and hold on to it. Hoepfully once I get this current Nova Trek done, I'll have time for some other stuff.
