Lutharix are about 9-12 ft long from head to tail. Their skin is smooth. They have six eyes, three on either side, that lack whites. On either side of the head are fringed frills that have a stiff, chalky texture. These frills are also on the very tip of the tail, fringed and sharp and used as means of defense, and also along the elbows of the front legs.
Lutharix have feelers, most commonly located around the neck and the base of the rump. These are retractable. Since feelers are very sensitive, Lutharix will keep them retracted most of the time. Whenever they are out, they emit a faint glow and tend to have healing properties. You can tell where a Lutharix's feelers are located by the small cross shape pattern that they retract into.
It is noticeable that all Lutharix have dark indents from the base of their throat down their neck, along the stomach, and to about halfway alongside the underpart of the tail. Within these indents are a pearl-like gem that glows whenever the feelers are out. The pearls are high in nutrient and are shed every 3 months.
They do not have nostrils, and seem to lack teeth aside from the sharp fangs on the top jaw. Lutharix's muzzle is more like a beak, and the tip is sharp.
They have three toes on all feet, tipped with sharp claws. On the hind feet are an extra claw, which are noticeably larger then the rest and used for hunting & combat.
Females tend to only lay a single egg in the breeding season, making them very rare. However, they have no natural predators, so their numbers are slowly gathering.
Average lifespan (in the wild) is 20-50 years.
Behavior
Lutharix are very cautious. They will not be likely to approach a stranger.
They are commonly found in groups of 3, protecting ancient ruins in dense jungles and sometimes around coastal areas bordering the ocean. They're almost always found around ancient structures that have been abandoned. Because of the Lutharix's pearls, they bring much health to the environment they live in.
Their feelers are used for conveying emotion, healing wounds, and showing their trust. A Lutharix's feelers is the most fragile/sensitive part of the body, which makes it unlikely to show to strangers.
They don't trust very easily. Very protective of friends & family.
Folklore
It's said that Lutharix were the ancient guardians of the cities our ancestors built. Even they were abandoned and began to deteriorate, the Lutharix still stood guard. They are also known as the bringers of life, the revivers, for they can speed up the growth of forests with their pearls and have a positive effect on their environment. Lutharix pearls are sold for a very high price, making poachers abundant. However, poaching was made illegal not too long ago.
Diet
Carnivores. They hunt independently and only hunt for others if they're sick, pregnant, or too young. Prey depends on the environment. Can range from fish, small mammals, deer, birds, and even other carnivores (though not usually).

Can I Make My Own Lutharix?
Lutharix are a closed species, which means you are not able to make your own. The only way for you to get a Lutharix of your own is through me. I'll be making plenty Lutharix adoptables for everyone to buy in the future. Also, if you are a close friend of mine, you can ask if it's alright to make your own.
Can I Make Lutharix Adopts?
No! Please do not do this! It is against my rules and you will be reported.
