But uhhhhh this picture was so much work, I might have poured in too much time on it I could be using for other pics, but I got obsessive with experimenting with new tools and processes >.>

Tempest Shadow is a genuine Darth Vader esque villain. I find it weird that the MLP movie did a better job feeling like a Star Wars film than Star Wars The Last jedi.

She shoots lighting from her horn (Sith Lightning), beats the tar out of those in her way, has lost something near and dear to her and is one heck of a fighter. Fizzy is basically a Sith in the making if she isn't one already.

she's also super moody, betrays her darklord who is kind of worthless but apparently all powerful (if you've seen the new movie)

But putting that silly thought aside, I do love the idea of Tempest being the Sith. A little spark of lighting magic, dark color tone appearance, awesome mane and a legit armor. With that said, this was well done! 5/5

Dark/black color theme gotta have a good blend on the character like Tempest compare to the usual OCs with pitch black and red all over. Nothing good to look at there @_@.
For the silver armor, I think it might suit her well actually so you could do an alternate pic of it and see for yourself, but up to you whenever you feel like it.

I was messing with some sliders, luckily with how I textured the armor it looks black, but it's still easy to see and not just blending in with all the other black and darks around it

Because I wrote an entire novel over 3 year just to tell the world how much I hate Twilight? Hatred is as inspiring a force as love.

My issue with the movie in general was how safe it played everything and how it regressed the characters (big bad showed up, princess-interference-butting is pressed, journey, characters learn lessons they have already learned dozes of times in better ways, all ponies abandon Twilight, who regressed to season 1 levels (and no, having the world on her shoulders is no excuse! Twilight has faced worse) and then everyone comes together and the villain is reformed). But TS made it all unbearable. She was boring and worse, she made every scene she was in more boring. All of the time that she was there was solely used to have characters cower before her, be impressed or show how strong and DANGEROUS she is. They had to give her an annoying side-kick to hide how un-engaging the character really is. It's just MENACE MENACE MENACE! Worst is the part with the pirate ship. We have this moment of triumph and discovery and frikking sky pirates (I repeat: FRIKKING SKY PIRATES!), but no! Tempest Shadow shoots one harpoon and instantly, everyone is cowering again! MENACE MENACE MENACE! No battle, no fighting back, no fun, just cowering again. She managed to drag every scene down and worse: Everyone in the audience knew that she was gonna get betrayed by the Storm King and get reformed. No question, they were not gonna go hard on her. And her backstory is even worse!Β She is basically stupid Starlight Glimmer, just without the, you know, personality (because personality isn't MENACE MENACE MENACE). She was hurt and rejected in her childhood and now she is angry. Wow, what a new and interesting take!
And finally, there was the moment that made me truly hate her: When she made Twilight say "You're a pony like me."Β
Twilight, darling, you have faced evil ponies. You have faced MANY evil ponies. Sombra, Trixie, Luna, Starlight Glimmer, being a pony means nothing! Twilight was always the open and tolerant one (remember Bridle Gossip?). She grew up with a dragon. Species should mean nothing to her. But we needed that line, so Tempest could show us her sob-story of how she was too dumb to go to the doctor (like that stallion in season 5) and instead pledged loyalty to an evil despot. Yeah, I so want to see that dumbass getting reformed!Β
So yeah, mediocre movie, had good ideas but took no creative chances. Seeing how the show does that frequently, I was disappointed. But Tempest? Tempest probably the worst character besides Tirek. She is overpowered, stupid (not an insult, she is genuinely unintelligent and extremely shortsighted, trusts obviously evil characters and needs to menace everything) and boring. Honestly, I don't understand how anyone can tolerate her and I hope she is ignored in the coming season because Starlight is a way more interesting reformed villain

Just one thing about "supplementary material":
I watched the movie and I judge the movie. It doesn't matter if she has a deep and seasoned backstory with twists and turns and all that because NONE OF IT WAS IN THE MOVIE! For all intents and purposes, you're talking about a completely different character because nothing about her hinted at anything deeper. Don't give writers credits for things that they aren't willing or able to weave into a story.Β Β

The limitations of what the movie could or couldn't show are a somewhat moot point. The rest of the facts are there, it's just a case of if you're willing to seek them out before condemning her completely. I didn't in Diamond Tiara's case and we all saw how that turned out.

Sorry, but it the author basically has to say "Well, you may not like that character, but if you give me more money so you can do all the homework, that character might not be so bad." then I have no sympathy for either. This isn't like Dark Souls, where everything is in the game and you have to work with that. It's external data that should not matter

There isn't really much to fight over. I think that it's unacceptable to demand that your audience does paid homework (and someone has to pay since Wikis don't write themselves) just so a character doesn't come off as completely idiotic and worthless, you don't. And even if Tempest was salvageable, her role in the plot still stifles ever scene she is in and sucks out any kind of drama and suspense. I made my point and I stand by it.Β

I was wondering the same thing for a minute, before realizing she is holding it with the Force instead of magic. Hence the lack of a glowing aura around the saber.
