Entry from with art by

Soviet Superwoman

Real name: Olga Xenia Yezhov

Age: 32 (born 1923 alternate Earth)

Height: 6 feet, 3 inches

Weight: 225 pounds

Eyes: Cold Blue

Hair: Short Black

Appearance: Tall and imposing, the Soviet Superwoman is a powerfully built amazon of a woman. Her body resembles a densely muscled, heavyweight-class female bodybuilder with ample curves.

Dimensions: 38DD-24-38
Place of Birth: Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, USSR (alternate Earth)
Current Residence: Angel Falls, USA

Occupation: Former kolkhoz famer, former старшина́ (Starshina) in the Soviet military, Hero of the Soviet Union as the costumed heroine Soviet Superwoman

Powers:
Super-Strength: Olga was able to lift a German WWII-era battleship out of the water with some effort.

Flight: Olga can defy gravity and fly at a top speed of 1342.22 mph.

Invulnerability: Near indestructable, Olga can withstand almost almost all forms of physical or energy damage due to her incredibly dense-molecular structure. Her cape and costume cannot however. Extreme temperatures and radiation do not seem to bother her and she can survive in space for a limited amount of time (she can hold her breath about 20 minutes max).

Stamina: Ability to maintain continuous strenuous physical action for prolonged periods many times that of a normal human.

Laser Vision: Olga can concentrate electromagnetic energy into lasers generated from her eyes capable of melting or vaporizing almost any substance.

Super-Speed: Soviet Superwoman can move on foot at over 447.41 mph and perform actions many, many times faster than a normal human.

Fighting Ability: Fully trained in Systema & Sambo fighting styles.

History: The Soviet Superwoman, or Olga Yezhov, was born in the rural USSR on an alternate earth where she worked as a farmhand on her kolkhoz (communal farm) in the years prior to World War II. After Hitler invaded in 1941, her village was rounded up by the authorities and given injections to stave off disease. In reality it was an untested form of super-soldier serum that killed everyone else in her village but her. Olga was given vast superpowers as her genetic code was re-written. Over time she had become super-strong and durable, invulnerable to physical damage, she gained flight and the ability to concentrate lasers from her eyes, superhuman speed, regeneration and increased longevity. When she was ready, they gave her a new suit and a new purpose: she became the Soviet Superwoman, hero to the people of the USSR. In 1942-1943 she smashed the German armies at both Stalingrad and Kursk, before moving towards Berlin and putting Hitler's war in Europe to an end. The Soviet army marched forward with her at front, driving the Allied forces back and conquering everything the German army had been forced to relinquish all the way to France. After dropping the atomic bombs to defeat Japan, the United States ordered it's bombers to attack Moscow. Olga intercepted the atomic bombs and brought them back to Russian scientists to replicate. The Allied forces negotiated a non-aggression pact with the USSR, giving them all of the territories in Europe. The war was over, and Stalin had won.

Over the course of the next decade, the Soviet Superwoman was a champion to the common man. She disrupted terrorists and criminals, saved lives and fought against injustices large and small. In the 1950's, after the first Soviet launch into space, the earth grabbed the attention of the alien invaders, the Rikti. The Rikti attempted to conquer the earth, but one of the key problems they faced was the Soviet Superwoman. After months of battle, the Rikti blasted Olga into a portal, sending her far away through time and space. When the portal reopened, it had dropped her in the modern Angel Falls setting, present day. Since that time she has had to adjust to a world where the USSR has fallen, the technology is superior and the USA is the dominant superpower. She is still a hero first and determined to find her way back home while also winning the hearts and trust of the people of Angel Falls by fighting against the forces of evil.

SSW and Gladiatra would be a fun pairing to see in Argo 5.

Olga is one of be best written and most well though out original characters I’ve seen for quite a while, and she would certainly create a lot of very interesting storytelling opportunities.

There are practically no amazon type super heroines in the actual comic world, besides She-Hulk (who I don't really count for a couple different reasons). I think there should be. So many male heroes/villains are characterized by their brutish strength. They look hard, and they act hard. While, female heroes (I'm not gonna say heroine, heroine sounds like someone who doesn't rescue, but rather get's rescued)... Female heroes who's powers involve great strength like Mrs. Marvel or Rogue appear to be normal sized women. Well I guess that's fine, for people who prefer just one body type. But I'm not that guy.

If you hit the link at the bottom of this post you'll see my Sorority of Power comics which feature Crush, a super-strong amazon type character. Some great muscle pin-ups of her in those issues as well.

Hehe. Noticed you watch WWE. Unfortunately it took surgery to happen, but before Chyna left she was like the hottest thing I'd ever seen. Thanks a lot for that blunder, McMahon clan.

Well, physique-wise I think she was at her best pre-surgery (though her chin was a bit much). She looked gooood in those black tights. After facial surgery she lost some muscle and tried to get a bit more feminine but the new face was a little off and the physique, while great, looked a bit better beefy. As far as the hottest, she didn't beat out Sable,DX Tori, or Jacqueline Moore for me

People are making some very good points here and Olga certainly seems to be the front runner in fan support which is part of the judging process.

I can't say enough good things about this character. Every little detail has been accounted for, whether it be backstory or supporting characters. The character is so well done with her history, actions, and powers, one has to wonder why no one thought of someone like her before. Each story written by the character's owner has pushed and challenged the protagonist to new situations and predicaments that have led to grand story arcs. But you don't need to take my word for it. Her loyal fanbase across Deviant Art speaks for itself.

I think she would make for an interesting comic. She's got the same kind of "trying to find her way" appeal as Power Girl.

I praise the author for making SSW an interesting character with a resolutely noble personality, but is not without its flaws.

I beg you to do more than just featuring her as a guest star. And like the hqadd's comment you should take the author as part as your writing team.

The winner of the contest will certainly be given an opportunity to pitch a story and possibly get the writer credit if they desire that. That is best suited for someone who has the Argo 5 issues though as they will be the co-stars of this crossover of course.

The most important aspect of the Soviet Superwoman are not her powers, costume, or even her looks. All of these things are nice and original but the most important aspect is her rich history and storyline that makes her unique among original characters created here on dA. So many things have happened to her in the past three plus years that have affected her moral character, her friends, her lovers, and her enemies. Her character makeup and personality has continually grown as she learns to cope and live in our society after losing everything. She is truly a heroine caught in a world not her own - not just dimensionally but also temporally!

The Soviet Superwoman is my choice to appear in Argo Comics.

In my opinion, Soviet Superwoman is the most unusual, interesting and captivating character of the hero type in this moment, her creator produces one of the best texts in this area and if I was a publisher, I would certanly have her in my team.
As says: GOTTA BE OLGA!!!
