The sun was already up by the time I made it to my house. I stood outside for a few moments not wanting to face my mom or the punishment she was going to dish out. But more than that I didn't want to tell her what had happened. I needed the time to process it, to go over it in my own mind. The idea that I'd actually encountered a giant woman in the woods was too insane to even think about. Someone would have seen her besides me, before me? I mean the forest is old and its big but its not big enough to hide a giant, not in today's world. I shook my head trying to clear troubling thoughts from my shattered mind. Alternatively I'm just the early stages of insanity and I suppose if that's the case all this worry is for nothing since I'll be too nuts to even consider it in short order. Neither prospect was appealing so I decided to just man up and admit I messed up and spent the night in the woods. Maybe with good behavior mom would let me leave the house by the time I was 50.
