As she was dragged off, I heard her squeaking in protest but was relieved too. I didn’t like confrontation and that’s what this whole thing was looking like. This boy clearly did not like me and viewed me as a threat. It didn’t matter that I hadn’t done anything threatening, just my presence was a threat. How sad was that? Even with the best of intentions I was instantly an enemy. It was for the best that they both left, I didn’t need the trouble. I had accepted the situation and was already starting to regain my composure when I heard her little chirps of anger about not getting to ask my name. My name huh? She was certainly a strange one. My mind started to wander to the past, to the last time someone asked that question. It was entirely different but the feelings it stirred up were difficult to remember.
