Great expression here, I also like the composition and perspective. Only thing is that the shading is a little flat. Not sure if that was intended, but maybe a little highlights would go a long way in this image.

For highlighting black, you need to determine what kind of black you are highlighting. First, there is the level of shininess to consider. Really glossy obsidian black would be highlighted with white. The white would usually be in thin lines and small areas. Duller blacks would have more grays (less contrast) and wider highlighted areas. The other thing to consider is what color black you want it to be. I know that sounds weird... but all blacks tend to favor a color of some kind, which can make id difficult for painters trying to buy black sometimes, because the tube will say black, but you don't know if it will have a bluish cast or a reddish cast or something else, and you blatantly need a reddish one for what you are doing. Not a problem on the computer though. You get to decide. So if you decide that this particular black has a reddish cast to it, then you will select a grayish red for example. For hair, you generally want to stick with natural hair colors for the highlights, keep the majority of the highlights mostly gray and close to black with just a hint of color or it will look like the hair is the color of the highlight (which I believe is where the idea of blue anime hair came from), and for really shiny spots on the hair add some think white sheens to it. For clothes, you have to choose a fabric. Leather is just white shines, while cotton is more dull... usually a bluish tint is used on fabrics that are black. For the sky, it is usually blue but just before sun rise and just after sunset use a red or orange. Lets see, what else is black? That's all I can think of. I hope that helps you. ^__^
